- About Me | Emily D. Spivy
About Me: Inner_about WHO AM I? I've worked in multimedia television since 1995. I started at WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky in the video tape room. I moved from there to news photographer, then production director. In 2001 I left to become a director/editor at KTUL-TV in Tulsa, OK. I stayed there until February of 2016. I wanted to create unique content in addition to flawlessly executing it on air. That meant I had to switch jobs in order to prove myself. I decided that it was time to move to a different area of the television business, and I made the decision to work at KRSU-TV in Claremore, OK. I was a producer/director, meaning I created a lot of the content that airs on our station from top to bottom. I started there March 1st, in 2016, and I'm still there part time as needed. In September of 2022, I came back to KTUL in a totally new role. I'm now the executive producer for the lifestyle show for my day job, but I still enjoy the variety of freelance work outside of my day job. In 2017, I won my first Emmy award for "Perspectives - Jana Jae." Since then I have been nominated four other times for my work. I am a 2004 Telly Award winner for "Tulsa Extreme Makeover." I also produced/directed live college basketball, our regional music show, "Studio 66," and any live events headed up by the university. I directed/technical directed "I Want Answers!" It is an academic game show. I freelance direct live events. Both corporate and non profit events, such as the Tulsa Ballet, the Heroes Ball, and various Sonic ownership group conventions. I have also worked on the three TCC graduation events. I have also have a multi-cam setup for shooting events, and live stream capabilities. I have been a videographer/editor for events involving the Cherokee Nation, bands and other groups. For the record, I am insured for your piece of mind. I am the Chief Marketing Officer for AFT-ID . It is a nonprofit that helps children and schools get musical instruments that they need, but may not be able to afford. We are also working to try and save music in schools. Those things go hand in hand. In my spare time, I enjoy still photography, bicycling, computer gaming, computers in general (Mac and PC) and playing bass guitar, kayaking and bowling.
